Ingredients
- Celery: Choose stalks that are light green (but not white), with fresh, unwilted leaves and no bruises or discoloration.
- Cucumber: I used an English cucumber, but any variety works—no need to peel unless you prefer.
- Apple: I used a Granny Smith apple, but you can use your favorite sweet or tart variety; for a sweeter smoothie, go with a sweet apple.
- Lemon juice: Freshly squeezed for brightness and to intensify the flavors. You can use lime instead of lemon.
- Ginger: Adds a spicy, warming kick to balance the freshness.
- Water: Use cold water for a refreshingly chilled and smooth consistency.
As always, you can find the full recipe with a list of ingredients with measurements in a printable recipe card at the end of this post.
How To Make Celery Cucumber Apple Smoothie
Step 1: Combine chopped celery, cucumber, apple, ginger, lemon juice, and water in a high-speed blender.
Step 2: Blend until smooth and frothy. Pour into a glass and enjoy immediately.
Storage
This smoothie is best enjoyed immediately after blending to preserve freshness and nutrients.
If you need to store it, keep it in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 24 hours. Since natural separation may occur, be sure to shake or stir well before drinking
Variations
- Minty twist: Add a handful of fresh mint leaves for extra freshness.
- Green boost: Toss in a handful of spinach or kale for a nutrient-packed smoothie.
- Tropical flavor: Swap the apple for pineapple or add both for a tropical twist.
- Coconut water: Use coconut water instead of cold water for a tropical touch.
- Chia seeds: Add a tablespoon of chia seeds for more fiber and protein.
Marinela's Tips
- Adjust Sweetness: If your apple isn't sweet enough, add a touch of maple syrup, agave, or a few drops of stevia.
- Blend in ice: If you like a thicker texture, add a handful of ice cubes when blending.
- Liquid Consistency: Add more water for a thinner consistency.
