Ingredients and Substitutions
- Pineapple Chunks (frozen): Keeps your smoothie cold and creamy without needing ice cubes. You can use store-bought frozen pineapple chunks or freeze your own fresh pineapple by chopping it into bite-sized pieces and spreading them on a baking sheet in the freezer for a few hours before blending.
- Banana: Adds natural sweetness and creates a thick, creamy texture. Opt for a ripe banana for the best sweetness and texture.
- Chia seeds: Add a boost of fiber, healthy fats, and protein. They also help thicken the consistency slightly. Swap with ground flaxseed or hemp hearts.
- Turmeric powder: Known for its anti-inflammatory properties, turmeric adds a vibrant golden hue to the smoothie and brings a warm, earthy flavor with a hint of spice. If you prefer fresh turmeric you can substitute ½ tablespoon of finely grated or chopped fresh turmeric for ½ teaspoon ground turmeric. If you love turmeric, be sure to check out my lemon ginger turmeric smoothie as well.
- Dairy-free milk: I opted for unsweetened almond milk for a lower-calorie option, but feel free to use your favorite plant-based milk, like oat milk, soy milk, or cashew milk.

I've used your recipe as I was already using these ingredients alongside with other ingredients for a weight loss plan... I found your recipe as I researched. In my findings prior to seeing your recipe pineapple and ginger has been really successful. I have another handful of ingredients that I add. I don't use oat or almond milk though.
I'm not over weight but have the classic belly fat and wobbly underarms and with everyday easy standing exercises and stretching I feel better also can see that my body fat has reduced, others have noticed and didn't know I was doing this. I don't have scales as that's not how I want to think about my weight loss plan. Hope this is helpful to someone and thank you for doing what you do as its a healthy and enlightening way to start your day....
