Equipment

  • High-powered blender

Ingredients

  • 1 big ripe banana frozen or fresh (use frozen for extra creaminess)
  • 1 small apple any type will work
  • 2 ripe mini kiwi or 1 normal-sized kiwi
  • 1 cup raw spinach loosely packed
  • 1 teaspoon spirulina powder
  • 1 tablespoon ground flaxseed (flaxseed meal)
  • 1 inch cube fresh ginger peeled
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice freshly squeezed
  • 1 tablespoon pea protein powder or your favorite vegan protein powder
  • ½ cup water cold
  • 1 tablespoon pure maple syrup optional, use only if your smoothie isn't enough sweet to your taste

Instructions

  • Add all ingredients to a high-powered blender and blend until smooth and creamy. This smoothie is not overly sweet. Its sweetness will depend on the ripeness of banana and kiwi and the type of apple you'll use. I recommend you to taste and add a teaspoon of maple or agave syrup to achieve the desired sweetness.
Wholesome, plant-based , fresh ingredients in a smoothie blender for blending a healthy smoothie cleanse.
  • Pour your protein-rich smoothie into a big glass or jar. Top it with frozen blueberries and fragrant homemade granola (a million times better than any store-bought). Enjoy!

Notes

  • The sweetness of your smoothie mix will largely depend on the size and ripeness of the banana and kiwi, and the type of apple you'll use. Feel free to add a tablespoon of maple or agave syrup if your smoothie isn't sweet enough.
  • As a liquid, you can use any plant-based milk instead of water.
  • If your smoothie is very thick just add more water to make it drinkable as per your taste.
Note that the nutrition facts are calculated without the addition of maple syrup.
