Banana kiwi spinach smoothie is one of my favorite smoothie blends to whip up, especially after my morning glass of water.
I love starting the day with a cold, creamy smoothie, and this one is extra special when kiwis are in season—they’re at their juiciest, bursting with sweet-tangy flavor that pairs beautifully with ripe banana and fresh spinach.
The vibrant green color, thick texture, and plant-based goodness make this smoothie not only refreshing but also nourishing and energizing.

Ingredients
- Kiwi: Choose ripe kiwis that give slightly when pressed; they’ll be sweet, juicy, and perfect for blending.
- Banana: Use fresh or frozen banana for natural sweetness and a thick, cool texture.
- Spinach: Baby spinach or regular spinach both work well; you can also swap it with baby kale for a similar green boost.
- Ground flaxseed: Adds a dose of healthy fats and fiber; feel free to substitute with chia seeds or hemp hearts.
- Lemon juice: A splash of lemon juice brightens the flavor and balances the sweetness.
- Dairy-free milk: I used almond milk, but you can also use oat milk, soy milk, or cashew milk.
As always, you can find the full recipe with a list of ingredients with measurements in a printable recipe card at the end of this post.
How To Make Banana Kiwi Spinach Smoothie
Step 1: In a blender, combine chopped kiwi, frozen banana, spinach, ground flaxseed, lemon juice, and almond milk, and lemon juice.

Store any leftover smoothie in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 1 day. Shake or stir well before drinking.
Variations
- Boost the greens by tossing in a handful of baby kale or fresh mint for an extra refreshing flavor.
- Incorporate protein by blending in a scoop of your favorite plant-based protein powder or a spoonful of nut butter.
- For a tropical twist, throw in pineapple or mango chunks for an added flavor boost.
- Enhance the creaminess by tossing in a few chunks of avocado or a spoonful of coconut yogurt.
- If your fruit isn’t quite ripe enough, sweeten naturally with a soft date or a splash of maple syrup.
Marinela's Tip
For an extra frosty and thick smoothie, pre-freeze your banana before blending.
